Quick Meal Ideas Using Store Bought Tabouli

tabouli-2-9-11There are  bountiful fresh and healthy food products readily available now in our grocery stores.  It’s easy to put together a healthy lunch in minutes with all of the incredible choices. Tabouli is one of my favorites.  It is a super nutritious salad that is tasty and offers texture and  color as well.  Tabouli is a salad composed mainly of parsley, bulgur, tomato, cucumber, onion, lemon juice and olive oil. It is delicious on its own as a side salad, but it is also a very versatile salad that can be tuned into a meal by adding a few select ingredients.

Here are some of they ways I change it up:

  • add a can of tuna
  • add some brown rice or quinoa and top with a poached or fried egg
  • add some cubed rotisserie chicken
  • add some lentils and or toasted pine nuts
  • add a half a cup of Tabouli to a chefs salad
